CrossFit Austin Attends Egoscue University

I will attending the Egoscue University located in sunny Del Mar California. I will be taking the PAS or Posture Alignment Specialist Course. This course is designed to teach how to identify and correct postural deviations, it adresses pain and how to increase athletic performance. The Egoscue Method has a great reputation through out the world. Many professional athletes such as Junior Seau and John Lynch have used The Egoscue Method for treating and prevention of chronic injuries. Junior Seau attributes much of his success and longevity in the NFL to the Egoscue Method.
I personally had a nagging rotator cuff problem for about six years. After reading the PAIN FREE, I was able to fix my rotator cuff in about fifteen minutes. Since then, I have fixed a externally rotated knee which had been causing me pain for a year. So far my personal experiences have sold me on Egoscue, I look forward to learning new techniques that will help my clients with pain, posture and performance.

Situp and Throw

The Situp and throw and it's variations is one of the Dynamax Daily Dozen cornerstone exercises. This great exercise develops superior core strength and connects the upper torso to the lower body. In addition it trains the rotator cuff muscles, lats and hip flexors.
To do this exercise start in a seated position with the legs directly extended in front of the hips, keep legs together. The catcher tosses the ball to the trainee. The trainee lowers him/herself all the way done until the shoulder blades touch the ground, simultaneously extend the arms overhead, quickly reverse the direction and return the ball to the catcher. Perform as many or as few reps as needed, be smart, stop if you feel a warming sensationin the lower back. Enjoy!

Medicine Ball Flutter Kick

Cristi performs a medicine ball flutter kick. Take the ball over your head then bring the ball and leg forward at the same time touch the ground between right and left legs, alternate legs, perform 20 reps.

CrossFit Austin Medicine Ball Training

The Dynamax is a great tool for the development of all around fitness otherwise known as general fitness. The Dynamax Medicine Ball is superior to all medicine balls in design and in its theory and application. I have effectively used medicine balls from beginners such as a 50 year old female wanting to lose weight to 30 year old professional cage fighters.
The Dynamax Daily Dozen is a series of exercises that targets the entire body. Anyone seeking elite fitness or just looking to stay healthy can benefit from the Dynamax Daily Dozen. There is essentially three cornerstone exercises, locomotion, that is where the trainee covers a specific distance with a particular exercise, an example is a High Knee Lift covering lets say 20 meters. And the last cornerstone exercise is rotations and its variations, rotations develop a strong link between the lower and upper body, which is essential for a healthy back and superior sports performance.

Wallball Workout

David Rivera professional fighter (King of The Cage) cranks out some WallBall. Try Wallball, simply take a 25 lb (Dynamax Medicine Ball) squat with the ball at chest level, jump and heave the ball at a 10 ft verticle target, repeat 150 times. This is a great strength endurance workout that will definately get you breathing hard. Have fun!
